Q &A

helpful information for families

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO HIRE A NANNY?

  • Average time is 2-4 weeks. Every family is different & it depends on how much time you have to interview the candidates that are presented to you. We recommend starting at least 6 weeks prior to the time you want  your nanny to arrive.

WHAT IF IT DOES NOT WORK OUT & I NEED A REPLACEMENT?

  • There is a 60 day trial period. Anytime within those 60 days you notify us in writing that you wish to utilize the free replacement offer that is only valid during the trial period we will do our best to assist qualifying families in finding a replacement nanny.

WHAT DO YOU REQUIRE OF YOUR NANNY CANDIDATES?

  • We require all of the nannies to be at least 18 years of age
  • We require that all nannies are legal to live & work in the US
  • We require that all nannies have at least 3 years childcare experience
  • We require all nannies to be willing to relocate
  • We require nannies to commit to one full year
  • We require the nannies to have a high school diploma or GED
  • We require all nannies to be CPR/First aid certified for infants, children & adults
  • We require some younger nannies to obtain a food handlers card so they can cook safe meals
  • We require the nannies to provide 3 personal references & 3 childcare references
  • We require that all nannies have a current valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • We require a clean criminal background
  • We require that the nannies love children and have a passion for watching children learn and grow.

DO YOU SCREEN YOUR NANNIES?

  • Yes, absolutely. We outsource the criminal background report, sex offender registry & driving report to https://usinformationsearch.com/ Our agency calls each of the 6 references provided by the nanny. We also ask each nanny to submit a written letter of recommendation from someone they have actually been in their home and watched their children or they have worked for.

WHERE DO YOUR NANNIES COME FROM?

  • Our nannies come from the United States. We work with all loving, caring, religious nannies that meet our criteria.

DO I PAY THE NANNY DIRECTLY?

  • Nannies are employed by you and should be paid directly by you. Most nannies are paid every Friday or every other Friday. Make sure to discuss with your nanny how & when they will be paid. If you need help setting up payroll we can refer you to a company that can take care of that for you.

WHAT ARE WE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE FOR THE NANNY?

  • Nannies will need a private bedroom
  • Nannies can share a bathroom with the children or use the guest bathroom but we ask that the nanny has a bathroom separate from the family
  • Nanny is provided with room, board & a weekly compensation
  • Beginner nannies start at $400+ week
  • Experienced nannies start at $500 + week
  • Nanny is provided a one way ticket to the family home at the beginning of the agreement & a ticket home when it's time for her to go. If you take the nanny with you on vacation, she would need her own space just like at home. She can share a room with the children, not the adults
  • Nannies love to be appreciated so if you want to reward them with gift cards, dinner, or even send them to get a pedicure, your nanny would greatly appreciate it, but it's not required

HOW MANY HOURS CAN MY NANNY WORK?

  • Most nannies work an average of 45-50 hours a week. Your nanny can work more with the appropriate compensation as long as she is in agreement. Make sure to talk about hours and salary when interviewing the candidates.
